Somewhere in Ukraine…
“…there is a baton twirler or majorette who no longer gets to twirl his or her baton because of this horrible war.”
ABOUT ME
My name is Bridgette, but you can call me Bridgy. I’m an American teenager from the Heartland. The things in life that are most important to me are faith, family, friends, books and music. I love baton twirling and am a competitive twirler and cheerleader. I also love to sing and play my guitar.
I came up with the idea for flower crown scrunchies in 2020. I needed a hair piece for a show twirl costume and I wanted something that looked like a Ukrainian vinok, more commonly referred to as a flower crown. My mom tried to make one for me out of a barrette, but it wasn’t coming together. That’s when I suggested we try a scrunchie. It worked great!
In March 2022, I decided to sell my flower crown scrunchies to raise money for war-torn Ukraine. I can’t imagine having my city bombed or having to lose or leave my friends, school, pets and family. I know somewhere in Ukraine there is a baton twirler or majorette who no longer gets to twirl his or her baton because of this horrible war. I hope this project is successful. Please help me make it so! I want to do what I can to make a difference for that girl or boy. That’s why I started Ukraine Flower Crown Scrunchies.
Matthew 25:37
Inasmuch…
…as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Abiding in the Shadow of the Almighty
PSALM 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty...
…I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, Ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place — the Most High, who is my refuge — no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
